  1. Saryu river

    The Saryu River is a sacred river in Ayodhya, considered the lifeline of the city and deeply significant in Hindu scriptures like the Ramayana. It is a vital part of Ayodhya’s identity, flowing through the city and serving as the site for numerous holy ghats, such as Ram Ki Paidi, where pilgrims bathe. The river originates in the Himalayas and flows into Uttar Pradesh, where it merges with the Ghaghara, and is also known as the Sarju River. 


  2. Nageshwarnath Mandir

    Nestled in the hallowed grounds of Ram ki Paidi, this revered temple traces its legendary origins to Kush, the younger son of Lord Rama himself. Upon losing his precious armlet in the river’s depths, Kush was aided by Naag-Kanya, a devoted serpent-maiden, in miraculously retrieving it. In eternal gratitude, he is believed to have constructed this sacred edifice as an offering to the great Lord Shiva, whose lingam form resides within the sanctum sanctorum.


  3. Ram ki Paidi

    Ram Ki Paidi is a series of ghats on the banks of the Saryu River in Ayodhya, believed to be where Lord Rama bathed. It’s a popular pilgrimage site where devotees take holy dips in the river, which is believed to cleanse sins. The ghats are also a scenic spot, especially in the evening, and are used for various religious rituals and ceremonies.



  4. Lata Mangeshkar Chowk

    Lata Mangeshkar Chowk in Ayodhya is an iconic roundabout dedicated to the legendary singer, notable for a giant, 40-foot-long, 14-tonne veena sculpture at its center. Inaugurated on September 28, 2022, the chowk marks a significant cultural and artistic landmark, featuring marble lotuses that depict her life and serving as a popular spot for both residents and tourists.



  5. Hanuman Garhi Temple

    Hanuman Garhi is a significant Hindu temple in Ayodhya dedicated to Lord Hanuman, believed to be his residence where he guarded Ramkot. Located about 1 km from the Ram Janmabhoomi site, it is custom for devotees to visit Hanuman Garhi first to pay homage to Hanuman before worshipping Lord Rama. The temple is constructed in the shape of a fort on a mound, requiring visitors to climb around 76 stairs to reach the main shrine, which houses idols of Hanuman and his mother, Anjani, with baby Hanuman.




  6. Shri Ram Janmbhoomi (The Ram Temple)

    Shri Ram Janmabhoomi in Ayodhya is a Hindu temple built on the believed birthplace of Lord Rama, a central deity in Hinduism. Located in Uttar Pradesh, India, the temple complex is a significant religious and cultural landmark, attracting millions of pilgrims. It was constructed following a long-standing dispute and is designed in the traditional Nagara architectural style.



  7. Dashrath Mahal

    Dashrath Mahal is a historic palace in Ayodhya believed to be the residence of King Dashrath, the father of Lord Rama. Though renovated over time, it is now a sacred temple housing idols of Lord Rama, Sita, Lakshmana, Bharata, and Shatrughna, and is significant for its mythological connection to the Ramayana and Lord Rama’s childhood.



  8. Kanak Bhawan

    Kanak Bhawan is a prominent Hindu temple in Ayodhya dedicated to Lord Rama and Goddess Sita, believed to have been originally gifted to them by Queen Kaikeyi. Located north-east of the Ram Janmabhoomi, its name translates to “Golden Palace” and it features intricate idols of the deities adorned with gold under a silver roof. The current structure was largely rebuilt in 1891, showcasing a palace-like architecture with elements adapted to the hot climate.
